Public consultation open until April 15

What if we protected together,
what makes the night magical?

S.O.U.L. Montréal invites you to take part in a public consultation to build, from a real experience of connection, a more inclusive, safer and vibrant nightlife culture.

Public Consultation

How your voice can impact nightlife culture

In 2024, the underground community laid the first foundations of a shared ethical framework. Today, this reflection enters its decisive phase: the public consultation.

What It Means

The 10 Proposed Mantras

The 10 proposed mantras are set to become the heart of the Underground Ethics Charter — a tool intended to be adopted by industry stakeholders and recognized across Montréal.

This step is not symbolic. This is where the final wording is decided. Every comment directly influences the version that will be presented publicly.

The S.O.U.L. Framework

A reference framework for a responsible and inclusive nightlife culture.

S.O.U.L. — Spirit of Underground Living — is a Montréal-based initiative offering a shared ethical framework for the nightlife industry. It aims to strengthen the conditions for authentic connection between people, music and spaces.

Born from a collaborative process bringing together over 25 scene stakeholders, the project is built around 11 mantras — guiding principles designed to foster safer, more inclusive and conscious environments.

Our Mission

The night deserves to be listened to as much as lived

Nightlife is a space of freedom, expression and social connection. It creates moments where music brings people together, where dance sets us free, where everyone can fully exist.

Spaces of deep connection

The underground scene creates rare moments — moments where music brings people together, where dance sets us free, where everyone can exist without masks or judgment. These moments create a sense of belonging and deep connection.

A fragile balance, invisible realities

Normalized violence, systemic exclusions, lack of recognition for stakeholders: when nothing is named, connection crumbles and the magic becomes vulnerable. These lived experiences remain largely absent from public decisions.

S.O.U.L. was born to change that

Without a clear human, social and ethical framework, the conditions needed for a healthy experience of connection become fragile. S.O.U.L. was born to support a way of living the night founded on respect, presence and shared awareness.

Philosophy
"Preserving the underground spirit is not about freezing the night.
It's about protecting what makes it alive."

Connection

Music brings people together, dance sets us free. Those moments where everyone can exist without masks or judgment are precious and rare.

Mutual Respect

Balance depends on the quality of presence, mutual respect and collective awareness. Without it, the magic dissolves.

Collective Intention

S.O.U.L. was born from this intention: to recognize the value of these moments and create the conditions for them to keep existing.
